How do I return an item?

Copyright Sheet Music and Software Programs

Under the U.S. Copyright Law, copyright owners have the exclusive right to print, publish, copy, and sell their protected works. Printed and electronic sheet music and songbooks you use reaches you as a result of the collaboration of the songwriter, composer or arranger who devotes her or his time and creative effort; the publisher who invests time and money; and your local music retailer who supplies your musical needs. Software programs also employ a similar collaborative effort to get their products to you. All sheet music, songbooks, software programs, printed and electronic material and products East Coast Music sells is copyright protected. As a result and to comply with copyright laws and licensing agreements and protect the rights of copyright owners including songwriters, composers or arrangers, we are prohibited from accepting the return of delivered/opened printed and electronic sheet music, songbooks and software programs. These products can be easily copied and this is prohibited per copyright laws.


Defective orders

We guarantee that all merchandise received will be free of manufacturing defects. If your product is defective please email East Coast Music and contact the manufacturer immediately. The manufacturer's Tech Support can help to get the product up and running without needing to return. In the event that a product is found to be defective, Tech Support can often arrange to exchange products directly with you. If Tech Support approves East Coast Music to ship you a replacement order, please email us and provide the Tech Support Case Number and supporting emails and documentation. We will email you directions to return the defective order and upon its receipt and inspection we will immediately ship you a replacement order. Defective orders must be reported within 30 days after delivery. Defective items may be exchanged for a replacement item of the same title and platform only. Outside of the 30 days from delivery, defective products will be subject only to the manufacturer's warranty.

Return & Refund Policy

East Coast Music wants to make sure you are satisfied with your purchase. Please email us with any questions or concerns. Our policies, terms and conditions are subject to change, so please check our statements regularly.

Please note that we cannot cancel or change orders once an order has been shipped. When an order is submitted, our Shipping Department
ships the order quickly and Sheet Music downloads and other electronic delivered products are delivered as soon as practical after an order is placed. If your order has not been shipped then you can cancel or change your order. For orders with multiple items and with one or more items not in stock the customer agrees that East Coast Music may cancel the items and ship the remaining items of the order. The customer further agrees that East Coast Music may choose to have distributors, manufacturers and other companies ship the items in the order directly to the customer for various reasons.

Please be advised that All Sales Are Final; Returns or Exchanges Are Not Allowed. The customer is strongly encouraged to be careful when placing an order and to be sure that the product and shipping method that they have selected are the ones they want. Customers should solely use the product description as published on our website for purposes of determining whether the product is the correct item to purchase. East Coast Music is an authorized dealer for many publishers and manufacturers and must comply with contractual and
licensing terms and conditions, copyright laws and other obligations. Please note that the vast majority of our items cannot be resold or returned to the publishers or manufacturers for refund purposes when they are returned to East Coast Music.

Under special circumstances if the product description states that returns are acceptable, a customer can request a
Return Merchandise Number (RMA) by emailing East Coast Music the detailed reasons and circumstances, within 30 days of delivery. If approved by East Coast Music the following procedures will apply:
  • East Coast Music will issue an RMA Number to the customer and shipping instructions.
  • The returned product must contain all components, including the retail product box and packing, and must be in the same new condition as when delivered without any damage, marks or tears.
  • Upon receipt of the return, East Coast Music will inspect the condition of the returned item.
  • If the product condition is acceptable and it is determined that the item can be returned to the manufacturer for credit, a refund will be issued.
  • The estimated shipping and handling costs of the prior shipment and a restocking fee (less than 16%) are not refundable and will be accessed in determining the refund amount.

Wrong Item or Quantity Shipped

If we make an error with your order, such as shipping you the wrong item or more products than what you ordered please notify immediately. We will provide you with a prepaid return shipping label and the correct product. Please notify us within 15 days or your account or credit card will be charged for the wrong item or additional products and the customer agrees to this action even if they did not order it.
