Flying Colours by : Stephen Hatfield
This dramatic work is a “masque” where movement and music create a parallel reality in which the world is both recognizable and yet transformed. In this setting four tribes each see themselves as the center of the world; not recognizing the physical interdependence of the mountains; valleys; ocean and sky for which the tribes are named. For any combination of voices; percussion played by the singers (staffs; kalimbas; drums; vibraslaps; rainsticks; cowbells; finger cymbals); and staged movement. Duration: ca. 18:00.
