Joseph Martin has masterfully joined two popular Advent carols; “Come; Thou Long Expected Jesus” and “Tomorrow Shall Be My Dancing Day;” in an exciting quodlibet with a fantastic tenor solo. “Songs of the Promise;” from the cantata Canticle of Joy; is a fresh; lilting anthem of joyful anticipation – a nice change from the more somber; longing; “waiting in darkness” hymns often sung during Advent. The promise will be fulfilled; and this exuberant choral expresses sheer; unbridled happiness!
